The Hostage Brain, a book highlighting the most recent advances in brain research, was written for the lay audience. My challenge was finding a way to illustrate complex information in a simple yet dynamic way. So I collaborated with medical illustrator, Lydia Kibuik, to create illustrations of the brain functions that appear to leap off the page.
